This policy explains how Brightstream collects, processes and uses your personal data in operating this website (brightstream.com.tw), our LINE official account, our newsletter, and our client advisory work, in accordance with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (the "PDPA").

1. Categories of personal data collected

The categories of personal data we may collect:

• Contact details: name, email, phone, LINE ID, company or brand name, job title
• Business requirements: what you asked about, budget range, services of interest, information about your existing site or system
• LINE login authorisation data: when you sign in with LINE, the LINE display name, avatar, email (requires separate authorisation) and LINE User ID covered by the scope you authorised
• Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, time on page (via analytics tools including Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel)
• Job application data: if you submit a CV through "Join us", this includes the role applied for, portfolio links, and your introduction

2. Why we collect it and how it is used

• Handling your enquiry, sending advice, and arranging meetings
• Delivering the services you ordered (free diagnostic, custom system development, long-term advisory work, and so on)
• Sending the "Notes from Johnny Yang" newsletter you subscribed to
• Assessing and following up on job applications
• Website usage statistics and service improvement
• Retaining the transaction and contact records the law requires us to keep

3. Third-party services and data transfer

To provide the full service this website uses the following third-party services, and some of your data may be transmitted to them:

• Vercel(website hosting; data centres may be located in the United States or Europe)
• Google Analytics 4 / Google Ads(traffic analytics and ad conversion tracking)
• Meta Pixel(Facebook / Instagram ad conversion tracking)
• Resend(sending notification emails from enquiry forms)
• LINE(LIFF login authorisation, LINE Bot notifications)

Each of these providers is bound by its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

This website uses cookies for basic functionality (such as keeping you logged in) and to analyse how the site is used. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some functions may then stop working properly.

5. Retention period

We retain your personal data for as long as the purpose of collection requires, specifically: (a) for the duration of an advisory engagement plus the retention period required by law after it ends (generally 5 years); (b) for newsletter subscribers, until you unsubscribe; (c) for enquiries that did not become engagements, 2 years as a rule.

Under Article 3 of the PDPA, you may exercise the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:

• Enquire about, review, or request a copy of your data
• Request that your data be supplemented or corrected
• Request that we stop collecting, processing or using your data
• Request deletion

This policy may be revised when the law or our services change. Revisions are posted on this page and the "last updated" date is changed. We suggest reviewing it periodically.
